About the project

This project was part of a £10 million programme of investment to revamp the airport terminal for the benefit of its passengers. Works comprised major internal reconfiguration of the terminal building including, relocation of the existing central search area, provision of new F&B, commercial and retail outlets, construction of a central core stairwell and link bridge to provide new access to the terminal building, redefinition of the airside and landside boundaries and a central control room interface with 24 hour monitoring of security and fire controls.

Strict security controls were enforced to ensure the airport functioned and maintained operational status during the phasing of the works. Works that impacted upon airside operations and the airports central control room were coordinated and planned with our client’s operational and safety management personnel.
