About the project
ChandlerKBS provided cost management services on the construction phase of this £6.7 million project to ease congestion on the M40.
Due to congestion during peak traffic times as a result of commuting traffic trying to diverge at Junction 12 to get to local employment sites, junction improvement works were deemed necessary to prevent and reduce queuing. Queues regularly extended for over a mile on the hard shoulder during peak traffic times, particularly on the southbound carriageway. Government commitment to improve journey times in an attempt to stimulate local economic growth accelerated the delivery of this project.
ChandlerKBS provided construction phase cost management services. The services included:
- Assessment of the Price for Work Done to Date and prepared Interim Payment Certificates.
- Financial reporting and forecasting.
- Led value engineering, value management and risk management processes.
Contract administration support to the Project Management, including the management of Early Warnings and assessment of Compensation Events
