About the project
ChandlerKBS was involved in this multi award winning prestigious Euro 75 million project from inception through to completion since its beginning providing cost and project management, construction supervision, programming/scheduling, FF&E and OSE procurement, technical due diligence, assessment of operators technical requirements and PIP's.
The resort is based on a 16 hectare private island in the Venetian lagoon, just 20 minutes from St Marks Square. The property consists of 265 guestrooms/ suites and associated facilities and is housed across 21 separate buildings. The existing derelict condition of the buildings and their location generated numerous issues which made the project realisation an incredibly challenging and rewarding process.
Our involvement commenced with the provision of the initial technical due diligence advice and then progressed into the feasibility stage. Once the client decided to proceed with the project we subsequently managed an international design competition and also advised the Owner on the technical issues during the selection and appointment of the Hotel Operator. Following our management of the design phase and the associated planning application process, we ran a widespread competitive tender process prior to appointing the various contractors and project managing the construction process up to the completion and handover of the property to Marriott.
