About the project

The aim of this £90 million scheme completed was to relieve traffic passing through the village from the A473.

The 7km of single carriageway has three roundabouts and one traffic signal controlled junction with two road bridges, three footbridges, a cattle creep, nine major culverts and a pedestrian underpass. The route passed through a number of waste tips including a tyre dump and pulverised fuel ash. In addition, advanced works were required along the route to deal with a number of environmental issues including dormice and great-crested newt habitat sites.

ChandlerKBS provided procurement advice on the OJEU notice and management, and the facilitation of risk workshops. ChandlerKBS also provided post-contract contractual advice, assisting the Project Manager in administering the conditions of contract.
