About the project

For more than 175 years the Breidenbacher Hof in Düsseldorf epitomised the ultimate in European luxury and hospitality.  It finally closed in 1999 after falling into disrepair. ChandlerKBS was commissioned to undertake a due diligence exercise for the refurbishment of the property. Following this work it was decided to demolish the existing building and to develop the new Breidenbacher Hof.  ChandlerKBS undertook the full development management, client's representative and project management role necessary to realise the project.

The Euro 120 million new building was planned as a mixed use inner city scheme of circa 30,000 sq m containing a 95 room luxury hotel, 19 duplex and penthouse apartments, luxury retail and office space, a basement car park and a health club.

Following 40 months of construction the property re-opened, 196 years after it first opened its doors and 4 years after demolition of the original building.

ChandlerKBS' services spanned the full project lifecycle from due diligence of the existing property through the realisation of the new build project.
