About the project
This £20 million project involved the construction of 5.9km of 2+1 carriageway, four roundabouts, twenty three structures including accommodation bridges, underbridges, culverts and flood connectors.
The town of Magherafelt is situated on the A31 route which experiences traffic numbers in excess of 17,000 vehicles per day, linking the south west area of Northern Ireland to the north east. With 12 schools in Magherafelt high volumes of traffic pass through the town daily which caused significant levels of congestion.
ChandlerKBS services included, administration of the commercial aspects on behalf of the client to include the process and evaluation of Early Warnings and Compensation Events, approval of sub-contractors, financial reporting to TransportNI, assessment and preparation of interim payments and general contract administration.
