Whether the project is procured on a traditional basis or via a more innovative solution we have the experience, systems and processes to provide a fully integrated service.

The ChandlerKBS internal database of costs and prices enables us to provide accurate project cost estimates from the initial feasibility stage through the design process to contract award. Following contract award our cost reporting processes enable us to monitor any financial movement and to forecast the out turn cost.

The benefit of providing early cost advice is optimised in the initial stages of a project, as the opportunity to make significant savings are at their greatest in this phase of the project life cycle.

Whether the chosen procurement route and contract form requires bills of quantities, activity schedules or lump sums ChandlerKBS will assess the tendered information and report on its appropriateness with regard to compliance, risk evaluation, auditability and market value.

The Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) or Process elements of a project are often overlooked in construction. At ChandlerKBS we have a dedicated team of specialist Cost Managers who can manage this element of the project budget.

The need for whole life costing is an important consideration for our clients which is given due cognisance. Our growing database of operational costs helps us to advise on operational and revenue expenditure as part of the service that we can offer.

Reporting in a concise, efficient manner is our aim and our standard reports seek to deliver this, however we are able to tailor our reporting systems to client specific systems and requirements.

ChandlerKBS has developed bespoke software which we use to capture Key Performance Indicators and Team Performance Indicators, both of which can be used to assess project performance and benchmark where appropriate. Our cross industry experience provides opportunity to benchmark across sectors where appropriate.

ChandlerKBS use Earned Value Analysis techniques to measure cost and programme performance which provide a useful indication when trendlines are developed of project progress.

Cost management is not only about reporting on costs expended, it is also looking for trends which may be developing and being able to advise on mitigation strategies to minimise costs where problems are envisaged. This is an area that we encourage our cost managers to focus on. This is why we are cost managers and not cost reporters.
