News: Outlet Village opens on time and on budget

ChandlerKBS ensured that the grand opening of the Swiss Franc 180 Million Alpenrhein Outlet Village in Switzerland on 27 November 2009 was delivered on budget and time.

Despite heavy snowfall in the area throughout the construction process the new outlet village has opened its doors ready for ski season. The site was developed by ING Real Estate, who set out to provide an authentic ‘Swiss Chalet’ retail environment.

This new retail environment is situated at the foot of the Swiss Alps near the famous international ski resorts of St. Moritz, Klosters, Arosa and Davos it is also close to the Austrian border and to the prosperous principality of Liechtenstein. It is a truly international outlet destination that is drawing customers from four countries as well as from Zürich the most prosperous city in Switzerland.

Our team has done a fantastic job to manage the construction of the project on programme which included working through last winter which was the hardest in decades”. The outlet is home to some 100 top brand shops, all of which have a minimum 30% discount offering.

“We have helped ING Real Estate create a regional ambience in a typical village style whilst at the same time attracting visitors from across Europe.”

 The village is almost complete, with half of the units having received roofs and cladding. Once finished, the centre will comprise of 100 shop units, 1,200 parking spaces and a selection of restaurants and cafes.

ChandlerKBS is provided the cost, project management, site supervision and tenant liaison for the development of this shopping village, for the financier and developer ING Real Estate.
