Case Study: New Community School Abercynon

ChandlerKBS has been appointed to work in partnership with Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council to project manage the design and construction of a new community primary school in Abercynon.

The collaborative focussed NEC3 contract, is being used to administer the construction project and consultant service provision.

The project involves civil engineering works (earthworks and retaining walls), ecology works, construction of the school, soft and hard landscaping.  It will use sustainable technology to reduce energy consumption.  A grade II listed war memorial will be retained and become a prominent feature at the front of the site.

The landmark designed school will accommodate over 400 pupiles.
