Case Study: Mile End Park, East London
ChandlerKBS played a leading role in the park's successful submission to the Millennium Commission - which awarded £12.3 million towards the project to transform an urban park in London's East End into a 90 acre themed park. Set adjacent to the Grand Union Canal in Tower Hamlets, the park stretches across 1.3 miles.
Facilities have been upgraded to include a 2,000 seat natural amphitheatre, ecology park, artpark, adventure and sport parks and terraced garden. A unique 'green' bridge for pedestrians and cyclists has also been constructed to span over the trunk road which splits the park in two.
ChandlerKBS provided full cost management services including Lottery funding advice.
