Case Study: Church Village

The Church Village Bypass is a scheme to relieve traffic from the A473 that passed through Church Village.  The 7km of single carriageway has three roundabouts and one traffic signal controlled junction.  There are two road bridges, three footbridges, a cattle creep, nine major culverts and a pedestrian underpass.  The route passes through a number of waste tips which included a tyre dump and pulverised fuel ash.  Advanced works were also required along the route to deal with a number of environmental issues including dormice and great crested newt sites.

Procurement advice included advice on the OJEU notice.  Our role also included the management and facilitation of risk workshops.

ChandlerKBS prepared early budget estimates, feasibility costings and Target Cost verification as well as ongoing cost advice.  The risk allocation was particularly import due to the financial restrictions of the scheme.

The project was delivered using the ECC Optionc C contract and was delivered on time and within budget.
