Case Study: A5 Western Transport Corridor

As part of our cost and project management commissions, ChandlerKBS regularly add value to a project by providing ad-hoc procurement advice.

ChandlerKBS is commissioned by Mouchel to provide cost management services on this 82km dual carriageway between Derry and Aughnacloy. This is the largest single contract to be procured in Northern Ireland. In addition to the cost management role, ChandlerKBS has been instrumental in developing a procurement strategy in conjunction with Rowsell Wright who are employed as specialist procurement advisors.

Our combined expertise and experience has enabled the project team to develop a robust procurement strategy for appointing 3 Contractors under Early Contractor Involvement arrangements. As well as contributing to the development of the strategy, part of our role has been to challenge, to ensure that the process is robust, that the correct decisions are taken and that the strategy achieves the best possible outcome for Roads Service in Northern Ireland.
